Thank you for the Blog comment, Dodde. Going to church or calling myself Catholic, Christian or whoever won’t make me a better human. I don’t read the Bible or follow religions to respect other human and be like a human. To be a human and respect another human, you must be a human. Hate me for who I am rather than love me for whom I am not. Reading bible and calling yourself a Christian won’t buy you a ticket to haven. Religion is mankind's way of trying to get to the ultimate paradise after death. Even though I believe that Christianity is a cult, that people have the freedom to be part of that cult. I support free speech and the free exchange of ideas. I don’t support those who justifying wars in the name of God and Bible. Religion is the worst thing that ever happened to this world.
Guess what I'm getting ready to do? Yep...you guessed it...time to finally pull up roots...pack my bags...and move on home. My adventure north of the Mason-Dixon Line is coming to a close and I am going back to the place of my birth...the land that I love...Virginia, my home sweet home! I will be out of the loop for the next several days so be good to yourself and to each other and I will be back to see you before you know it!
In memory and honor of my father, Lt. Col. John L. Egan, who served our nation in two wars and the Berlin Airlift, and retired from the USAF after 23 years of service. Your friends aren't my friends, yet?
May we come all to live in a world where everyone is blessed by the presence of everyone else. May all come to know just how beautiful such a world can be.
It's my first Father's Day without you dear Dad... Yes it's truly a somewhat sad day... But it matter's not whether you're here...or you're there... because deep in my heart you will stay! It was the poet, Anne Sexton that said: 'It doesn't matter who my father was; it matters who I remember he was.' I remember who he was! How could I ever forget!? If you have a father...tell him not just today, but everyday how much you love him....and if you've lost your father...let's shed a tear together, my dear friend!
